SEW HAPPY STUDIO FAQs
Where are you located?
Sew Happy Studio is a home-studio located in Calhoun, GA
What do you offer?
Sewing classes for kids age 8+ and grown-ups;
You can learn in group settings with a student/teacher ratio of no more than 4-5 :1
or you can schedule private and semi-private classes (2 persons; like friends, siblings,
parent & child, etc.) and learn at your own pace and less distraction.
I also offer private/semi-private lessons in your house with an additional travel fee.
None of the listed times work in my schedule! What now…?
Please email me at sewhappystudio@gmail.com or text/call 706-263-0363 and let me know what class(es) you are interested in and what times you are available, and we may be able to work something out!
If there is enough demand for a particular day/time, I may be able to open a new class.
If not, there is always the option of taking private lessons on a day and time that works best for you!
Do you offer birthday parties?
I will offer birthday parties in the near future!
Feel free to contact me for updates!
Can I bring my own sewing machine?
I provide sewing machines here in the studio.
But, yes, you can bring your own sewing machine on your own responsibility if it is in good working condition.
I do recommend to bring it for private and semi-private lessons only.
Can I stay with my child during a class/ observe a class?
At the studio, I make sure students stay focused with an instructor to guide them through all lessons. As it has shown children tend to be easily distracted and their attention is split when parents/guardians or siblings are present. Their concentration level goes down, and it is also distracting to other students in the studio.
If you feel strongly about staying with your child, you are welcome to sign up for a semi-private class with your child and have fun learning together and have some quality time!
Can siblings stay at the studio while my child or I am taking a class?
Only enrolled students are allowed at the studio during classes to keep the studio safe and distraction-free
Is food or drink allowed in the sewing studio?
Water will be fine in a designated area away from the machines and supplies;
snacks only with permission.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At the moment I only accept cash and checks (made out to Christine Willer) but other options will be added in the near future.
When is payment due for the sewing classes?
Payment is due when you register for the class; no later than 7 days prior to the start of the first lesson and is required to hold your spot in the class.
At the moment, with the limited paying options, I am willing to keep a spot for two days, so you have time to fill out the registration form and drop it off together with the payment.
Space is limited and classes may fill up quickly, so please submit payment as soon as possible to ensure you do not lose your spot.
What is the cancellation policy for sewing classes?
If you have to cancel up to a week before the start of the first class, you will receive a full refund.
If you have to cancel between three to six days prior to the start of classes, you will receive 50% credit towards future classes.
If you have to cancel less than three days before the start of the class, unfortunately no refund can be given.
Missing a lesson…. What now?
If you need to miss a lesson, due to illness or another important reason, please contact me asap at sewhappystudiocalhoun@gmail.com or text/call 706-263-0363 to let me know!
Because of the cost associated with the classes, there will be no refund for a missed lesson, but I am willing to work with you and your child on making up that lesson.
However, there will be no extra scheduled time, but we might be able to find a spot in one of the other regular classes.
